Bert Ellis, CEO of iXL Entreprises

It's what you do with your success, said Bert Ellis, CEO of iXL Enterprises, in his keynote address to the May 13 student awards ceremony at Glenn Auditorium on the Emory campus.
For his part, Ellis said he plans to give away 90 percent of his wealth during his lifetime.
Ellis, whose Atlanta company employs more than twenty Goizueta alumni, told students of four keys to entrepreneurial success:
- Honesty -- It's a must during every business cycle, both the ups and the downs.
- Passion -- It's vital to have an emotional and intellectual love affair with your ideas.
- Partnership -- Be certain that business partners possess all the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge.
- Perseverance -- Take a cue from the stock market when you think of giving up. Stick with it, and things will improve.
