From student to faculty member It wouldn't be a stretch to think that forty-year-old Kembrel Jones, who earned his master's
"I like dressing like a student," he says. "But now I'm wearing socks every day." The reason for the socks: Jones's new job as assistant dean of Goizueta's full-time MBA program. Although he admits to feeling "left behind" by his graduating class, Jones wants future Goizueta students to share the sense of community and level of education he experienced. During his Goizueta graduation, Jones received a seven-minute standing ovation when presented with the Marion Luther Brittain Service Award, given to the one student at the University who best represents the ideals of unselfish service. "My classmates were part of it because we're such a family," Jones says. So what's next for the student turned faculty member? Beyond the mountain of paperwork he had to conquer before the fall semester, Jones's long-term goal is to become a college president. Allison Shirreffs |
