BBA program soars in BusinessWeek rankings
The BBA Program advanced to the number 5 slot in the ranking of undergraduate business programs compiled by BusinessWeek. This ranking is significant because it measures academic quality, student and recruiter impressions, starting salary, and other factors, instead of solely measuring the perceptions of academics.
The BusinessWeek ranking is derived, in part, from surveys of more than 100,000 business students and 2,000 recruiters. The rankings methodology consists of five parts: student survey (30 percent); recruiter survey (20 percent); starting salaries (10 percent); MBA feeder schools (10 percent), and academic quality (30 percent).
Andrea Hershatter, associate dean and director of the undergraduate business program, says, “I strongly believe that our success as a BBA program should be measured by the quality of the students who pursue an education here and the degree to which they are challenged intellectually, personally, and professionally.”
In other rankings news, Goizueta maintains its number 18 position among accredited Full-time MBA programs surveyed in the 2007 edition of U.S.News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools.” No new schools entered the top 20, and there were few changes among the top schools’ rankings this year.
Goizueta’s Evening MBA Program is in a
four-way tie at number 20 among part-time programs, whose rankings are based on awareness of reputation by deans. The W. Cliff Oxford Executive MBA captured the number 10 position again this year.
“Recognition by corporate recruiters and our peer schools is truly rewarding,” says Dean Larry Benveniste. “We appreciate the acknowledgment, and we will continue investing in top caliber faculty and research, strengthening the curriculum, and further enhancing our leadership development initiatives.”
