Dear Alumni and Friends,
First, our MBA program was ranked eighteenth, according to a special report in the January 25, 1999, issue of the Financial Times of London. Among U.S. schools, our rank was fifteenth. The Financial Times survey is the first to rank business schools on a global basis. The aim of this survey-the publication's first-is to analyze which MBA programs will produce the top managers of the twenty-first century. Another important innovation is the Health Care Track, which is the subject of our cover story. We identified a need among physicians and other health-care professionals to learn more about leading-edge business practices. As a result, we launched the Health Care Track, a group of elective courses in our Executive MBA program. We've continued to add to our strong faculty. The Goizueta faculty has always been known for outstanding teaching; it now has gained a reputation for excelling at leading-edge research as well. We tell you about recent hires in the Portfolio section of the magazine. One of our goals is for Goizueta to have deep ties to the business community. Recently, along with a group of students, I received a briefing at CNN and a presentation by Tom Johnson, the president and CEO of CNN. He was very much focused on the future, seeking innovative ways to deliver news to viewers. At Goizueta, we're very much focused on the future. Our best days are ahead of us. As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions. Please let us hear from you. We appreciate the confidence and support you have given us, and I want to assure you that we are dedicated to nothing less than world-class standards. Sincerely, Thomas S. Robertson |
