Dear alumni and friends,

We recognize that it is imperative that Goizueta Business School carefully and strategically leverage the resources provided by our generous alumni and friends. We must make wise decisions that will allow us to continue exploring the expanse of business research and scholarship, while strategically investing in intellectual capital and necessary facilities.

Our plan to construct a major addition to the existing Goizueta building is the result of careful analysis to determine the most effective way to continue moving in innovative directions while adding scale and scope.

The Goizueta Center for Research and Doctoral Education, an 83,000 net square-foot facility, will house our PhD Program, new research centers, a trading floor for teaching finance, a broadcast studio, a behavioral research lab, and space for executive education, executive MBA, admissions, and the Career Management Center.

Construction is well under way, with the re-routing of Fishburne Road now complete. Our official groundbreaking ceremony and the celebration of the completion of the $50 million Leadership Alliance fundraising initiative are slated for March 18. The facility is scheduled for completion during the summer of 2005.

We also have drafted a new five-year strategic plan for Goizueta Business School, and we’re working with President Wagner to ensure that the school’s priorities are aligned with Emory University’s. We will unveil both Goizueta’s and Emory’s strategic plans this fall. You can expect us to be very ambitious.

As always, I am thankful for your support, and I welcome your suggestions for continued improvement.

Sincerely,

Thomas S. Robertson
